Following the insightful feedback provided by a Manuscript Assessor, I have spent just under a month creating what I am calling my second draft of For Your Tomorrows.
Having never done this before it was new experience and very challenging. It was an opportunity to refine the story by rereading it with an editor’s perspective. The assessor’s comments were particularly constructive, offering me fresh ideas on sentence structure and dialogue.
The process of working through the manuscript required an evaluation of every word and phrase to ensure they contribute meaningfully to the narrative. During the process the novel went from 119000 to 113000 words, not that the number of words implies anything. It was a demanding exercise, often involving hours of self-dialogue as I assumed the roles of different characters to enhance the authenticity of their exchanges.
I am excited now to start to promote the book and to get the interest of Literary Agents and Publishers.
